At KJCA we celebrate our heritage through a variety of engaging programs. From cultural events to educational resources, there’s something for everyone. Join us in our mission to promote understanding and appreciation of Japanese culture.

Born from a single workshop in 2004, Raiden Taiko has become a vibrant force in Kamloops, blending tradition, energy, and community spirit. Named after the Japanese God of Thunder, our taiko group began with Rubbermaid bins and broomsticks, and now performs on professional-grade drums across B.C.
Through grants, community fundraising, and generous mentorships, we've grown into a respected ensemble that performs at festivals, schools, and cultural events, including Canada Day, Obon, and the BC Winter Games.
Now celebrating 21 years and counting! Let's make Japanese cultural rhythms together.

The Japanese Canadian story is rich, resilient, and deeply woven into Canadian history. At the KJCA, we’re committed to preserving this legacy through our History Preservation Room, located in the basement of our Cultural Centre.
