Volunteer Opportunities

The Kamloops Japanese Canadian Association (KJCA) is a vibrant volunteer-driven organization that thrives on the support and dedication of individuals like you.

We organize various events and activities throughout the year that celebrate our traditions. We are seeking volunteers who are eager to lend a helping hand on both a regular basis and for specific projects and activities. Whether you have a few hours to spare each week or can contribute your expertise on special occasions, your involvement will make a significant difference in enriching the lives of our community members.

Ways to Support the KJCA

  • Catering: From setting up and taking down to prepping, cooking, serving, and dishwashing, your culinary skills will be greatly appreciated.
  • Cultural Instructors: Are you knowledgeable in traditional Japanese arts like Ikebana, Tea Ceremony, Odori, Shodo, Origami, Kite Making, Chigiri-e, or Japanese cooking? Share your expertise and help us keep these traditions alive.
  • Event Support: Events such as Canada Day, Things Japanese Sale, Rummage Sale, Children’s day, and Girls’ day require a considerable number of volunteers
